How do I connect my Epson XP-7100 printer to Wi-Fi?

  • 0
  • 0

Hi everyone,

I recently got an Epson XP-7100 printer and I’m trying to connect it to my home Wi-Fi network. I’m not sure where to find the Wi-Fi settings on the printer, and I don’t know how to start the wireless setup.

Could someone explain the steps to connect it to Wi-Fi? Also, how can I confirm that the printer is successfully connected?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You can connect your Epson XP-7100 to Wi-Fi directly from the printer’s touchscreen by following these steps:

    1. Tap Settings on the Home screen.
    2. Select Network Settings.
    3. Tap Wi-Fi Setup.
    4. Choose Wi-Fi (Recommended).
    5. Tap Start Setup.
    6. Select Wi-Fi Setup Wizard.
    7. Choose your wireless network from the list.
    8. Enter your Wi-Fi password.
    9. Tap Start Setup.
    10. When the connection is complete, tap OK.
    11. Return to the Home screen and check for the blue Wi-Fi icon. If it’s on, your printer is successfully connected.

You may also see options to register the printer with Epson or install firmware updates. These are optional and can be completed later.

Once connected, you’ll be able to print wirelessly from your Windows PC, Mac, smartphone, or tablet.

    Hi Frank,

Connecting your Epson Expression Premium XP-7100 to Wi-Fi is fairly straightforward once you know where the wireless settings are located. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you get connected.

Method 1: Connect Using the Printer’s Control Panel

    1. Turn on the printer and make sure it is ready.
    2. On the printer’s touchscreen, tap the Home icon.
    3. Select Wi-Fi Setup or Network Settings.
    4. Choose Wi-Fi (Recommended).
    5. Select Wi-Fi Setup Wizard.
    6. The printer will search for available wireless networks.
    7. When your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) appears, select it.
    8. Enter your Wi-Fi password using the on-screen keyboard.
    9. Tap OK or Start Setup.
    10. Wait for the printer to establish a connection.

Once connected, you should see a Wi-Fi icon on the printer’s display indicating that the wireless connection is active.

How to Confirm the Printer Is Connected

You can verify the connection in several ways:

Option 1: Check the Wi-Fi Icon

    • A solid Wi-Fi symbol on the touchscreen usually indicates a successful connection.

Option 2: Print a Network Status Sheet

    1. Go to Settings.
    2. Select Network Settings.
    3. Choose Print Status Sheet or Network Status.
    4. Review the printed page for:
      • Network Name (SSID)
      • IP Address
      • Connection Status

If an IP address is listed and the status shows “Connected,” the printer is successfully on your network.

Add the Printer to Your Computer

After connecting the printer to Wi-Fi:

    Windows

    1. Open Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners.
    2. Click Add Device.
    3. Select the Epson XP-7100 when it appears.
    4. Follow the installation prompts.

    Mac

    1. Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
    2. Click the + button.
    3. Select the Epson XP-7100.
    4. Click Add.

    Alternative Method: WPS Connection

    If your router supports WPS:

    1. Press the WPS button on your router.
    2. On the printer, open Wi-Fi Setup.
    3. Select Push Button Setup (WPS).
    4. Follow the prompts on the screen.

The printer should connect automatically without requiring the Wi-Fi password.

    Troubleshooting Tips

    If the printer won’t connect:

    • Make sure the Wi-Fi password is entered correctly.
    • Restart both the printer and your router.
    • Move the printer closer to the router during setup.
    • Verify that your router’s wireless network is active.
    • If available, connect to a 2.4 GHz network, as some printers have limited compatibility with certain network configurations.
    • Run the Wi-Fi Setup Wizard again after restarting the devices.

Once the printer is connected, try printing a test page from your computer or smartphone to confirm everything is working properly.

I hope this helps you get your Epson XP-7100 connected. Let us know if you encounter any error messages during setup, and we can provide more specific troubleshooting steps.
